Facility Information

Oakville’s arenas boast a variety of on-ice activities including classes and programs, recreational skating, Oakville Hockey Development programs, the Oakville Recreational Hockey League, and rental opportunities. In the summer, Kinoak Arena operates as an indoor skateboard park offering recreational skateboarding and programs.

Kinoak Indoor Skateboard Park

Open annually from April to the end of August, Kinoak offers a 14,500-square-foot park with 18 ramps and six rails and is still expanding. Kinoak is staff-monitored. This facility also offers a snack bar and helmet rentals.

Arena Availability

Tuesday pilot project for scooters

Starting July 8, scooters will be allowed at the Kinoak Indoor Skateboard Park every Tuesday from noon to 6 p.m. on a trial basis. For more information, please contact the facility directly.

Admission fees

Pay-as-you-go admission is $7 per visit, or you can buy a 10-visit pass for just $60. Please note that the 10-visit pass is punched per skateboard session.


Effective July 2-August 27. The following skates are open to all ages, unless specified:

  • Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays — 4-9:30 p.m.
  • Thursdays — noon-4 p.m., 4-7 p.m. (ages 12 and under only), and 7-10 p.m.
  • Fridays — noon-10 p.m.

Please note: The skateboard park will be closed June 28-30; July 1; and August 2-4. Schedule is subject to change. Please contact the facility directly for the most up-to-date information.

Skateboarding lessons

Pre-registered lessons and camps are offered at Kinoak Indoor Skateboard Park and Shell Park. Click on the links provided for more information and to check availability online. Private, semi-private and group lessons are also available.

Skaters must bring their own skateboard and helmet. Other protective equipment, such as wrist guards and pads, are strongly recommended.

Skateboarding 101 (ages 6-13) is designed for new participants who are just learning to skateboard. Weekly classes are offered at Kinoak in the spring and summer.

For the more experienced skater, Skateboard Intermediate (ages 6-13) weekly lessons will show you how to "drop-in," rock to fakie, stalls and master the Ollie.

Skateboard and Swim — Ramp-o-Rama camp (ages 8-12) combines skateboarding lessons at Kinoak Indoor Skateboard Park with active games and an afternoon swim at Brookdale Pool.

Weekly Skateboard Skills — Outdoor classes (ages 6-12), Skateboard Classes — Outdoor Summer Camp (ages 6-12) and Inline Skating Camp (ages 6-12) are offered at Shell Park.

Customize your deck! Aspiring artists (ages 13-18) can turn their sketches on paper into reality in the one-day Skateboard Deck Designs workshop at the Bronte Youth Centre on May 31. Skateboard decks and grip tape are included.

Private and semi-private lessons are available at Kinoak Indoor Skateboard Park in the spring and summer. Register online (ages 5-13), or call 905-338-4406 to book your lesson!

Looking for a get-together with your friends? The group lesson package includes a one-hour lesson for up to 10 people with a trained instructor and shared access to the park. Additional persons may be added for an extra fee. Helmets are mandatory and parental/guardian supervision is required at a ratio of 1:10.
