Photography in Parks

Oakville has many beautiful parks and gardens that provide the perfect backdrop for your special occasion, including the Oakville Municipal Greenhouse and Conservatory.

How do I apply for a photography permit?

All requests received will be permitted on a first come first serve basis subject to availability.

What else do I need to know?

Parking is limited and not guaranteed, parking if available is restricted to designated areas only. Vehicles parking on streets in the vicinity of the permitted park are required to comply with all Town parking regulations. Vehicles are not permitted on any grassed area.

Locations that require a permit:

Erchless Estate - 8 Navy Street
Historic gardens that overlook Oakville Harbour and feature a rock garden and 10,000 annuals on display between June and September. Perennials reflect the 1920s period.

Gairloch Gardens - 1306 Lakeshore Road East
Extensive rose gardens and 15,000 annuals that bloom between June and September.

Locations that do not require a permit

George’s Square - 179 Trafalgar Road
A floral carpet bed of 5,000 annuals, a cenotaph and gazebo.

Nottinghill Park - 1150 Nottinghill Gate
Four perennial flower beds in bloom from April to October including an ornamental grass collection and 7,500 annuals.

Shell Park - 3307 Lakeshore Road West
More than 500 blooming roses between June and September and 10,000 annuals in flower from May to September.

Rates & Fees (per 90 minute booking)

Council approves rental fees annually based on current market trends, base rates and fees, and current budget requirements.  The rates are subject to change pending council approval.

All fees include applicable taxes and insurance fees.
