Quality of Life

The historic Town of Oakville, founded in 1827, has preserved its rich heritage, where many 19th Century buildings are home to over 400 fine shops, services and restaurants. The median household income in Oakville is estimated at $101,675, about $30,000 more than comparable GTA figure. The downtown is also home to one of two local harbours located on Lake Ontario, which feature over 1,000 slips and moorings for sail and powerboats. Bronte, the location of Oakville's second harbour, has an abundance of fine shops and restaurants with a nautical appeal.

Oakville has over 2,400 acres (972 hectares) of park land, two natural harbours, historic buildings, theatres and galleries, Glen Abbey Golf Club - site of the Canadian Open, and the annual Waterfront Festival, and Jazz Festival. Corporate travelers find Oakville a preferred locations or hub for business in the Toronto/Southwestern Ontario area. Meetings & conference venues, contemporary accommodations, dining, shopping and live theatres are features of Oakville.
