What is RSS?

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is an XML-based format for sharing and distributing Web content, such as news headlines. Using an RSS reader, you can view data feeds from various news sources, such as oeda.ca, including headlines, summaries, links to full stories.

How do I access RSS?

RSS/News Aggregators
RSS/News Aggregators (also called Readers) will download and display RSS feeds for you. A number of free and commercial News Aggregators are available for download. Many aggregators are separate, "stand-alone" programs; other services will let you add RSS feeds to a Web page.

The OEDA RSS news feed has been successfully tested for these RSS Aggregators:

Weblogs
Another way many people use RSS feeds is by incorporating content into weblogs, or "blogs". Blogs are web pages comprised of usually short, frequently updated items and web links. Blogging as a publishing tool is used for many purposes: traditional journalism, personal journals, group discussions around a topic, and many combinations in-between.

Terms of Use

Please note that by using OEDA RSS feeds, you agree to our Terms of Use.

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) service is a means by which the OEDA offers news feeds in XML format ("RSS Content") to visitors to the OEDA website who use RSS aggregators. These Terms of Use govern your use of the RSS service. These Terms of Use may be changed by the OEDA at any time without notice.

Use of RSS Feeds
RSS is a free service offered by the OEDA for non-commercial use. Any other uses, including without limitation the incorporation of advertising into or the placement of advertising associated with or targeted towards the RSS Content, are strictly prohibited. You must use the RSS feeds as provided by the OEDA, and you may not edit or modify the text, content or links supplied by the OEDA.

Link to Content Pages
The RSS service may be used only with those platforms from which a functional link is made available that, when accessed, takes the viewer directly to the display of the full article on the OEDA website. You may not display the RSS Content in a manner that does not permit successful linking to, redirection to or delivery of the applicable OEDA web page. You may not insert any intermediate page, splash page or other content between the RSS link and the applicable OEDA web page.

Ownership/Attribution
The OEDA retains all ownership and other rights in the RSS Content, and any and all OEDA logos and trademarks used in connection with the RSS Service. You must provide attribution to the appropriate OEDA website in connection with your use of the RSS feeds.

Right to Discontinue Feeds
The OEDA reserves the right to discontinue providing any or all of the RSS feeds at any time and to require you to cease displaying, distributing or otherwise using any or all of the RSS feeds for any reason including, without limitation, your violation of any provision of these Terms of Use. The OEDA assumes no liability for any of your activities in connection with the RSS feeds or for your use of the RSS feeds in connection with your website.
