Bicycle Education & Safety

Bicycle education is an important key to increasing the safety and awareness of active transportation, especially cycling. Safety is not only a concern for on-road cycling, but also along multi-use trails where cyclists, in-line skaters and pedestrians are all sharing the same space.

There are many helpful resources available to cyclists no matter what their age. Learn more about Oakville’s cycling education initiatives by visiting our Active Transportation Master Plan page.

The town’s cycling network consists of on-road bike lanes, paved shoulder bikeways, signed bike routes and multi-use trails. For more information about the town's cycling network visit the cycling routes page.
