The Town of Oakville's employees are its richest resource.  Lead by example and take the time to recognize and reward your employees for their contributions to the organization.

We created Spotlight Academy - the Town's Employee Recognition Program - as a way for all of us to celebrate and recognize staff for their dedication and outstanding contributions to the success of the Town's overall mission, vision and values.

Although peer-to-peer recognition is important, ongoing, informal but sincere recognition of employees by supervisors and managers is essential to the success of our organization. It is immediate, inexpensive, and can be as simple as a thank you note for a job well done, a congratulatory email, or a small gift for an employee who has gone the extra mile. Even a small "thank you" has a big effect.

You will receive the kind of work you pay attention to, so reward the right things. If you comment positively on how an effort helps maintain our core values, enhances customer service, helps new staff or builds a stronger team, your staff will know what's important to the Town.
