Residents at Queens Avenue Retirement Residence receive update on new hospital

The town's financial contribution to Oakville's new hospital has been on the minds of many people lately. Mayor Burton paid a visit to the Queens Avenue Retirement Residence on Tuesday to answer questions about the new hospital and update residents about the town's public consultation process regarding funding for the facility. Oakville residents were sent a short survey in the mail last week, also available to complete online, and consultation continues with a public meeting on February 11 at Town Hall.

The conversation between Mayor Burton and residents also covered the disposition of Oakville Trafalgar Memorial Hospital, heritage properties in town, and the status of the QE Park Community Centre. As the discussion drew to a close, residents thanked Mayor Burton for answering their questions and dubbed him the "King of Queens."
