C'mon Oakville ... take the Power Pledge today!
Let's show Ontario we're committed to energy conservation! With a few simple actions, you can save money and electricity. Plus, earn 20 Air Miles Reward Miles just for signing up! Visit the Power Pledge and Every Kilowatt Counts websites for more details.
Oakville has signed on to take the Power Pledge Challenge and power down the town for one whole day. Our savings will be measured against other municipalities. The municipality with the highest numer of pledges and who reduces their energy use on August 11 wins!
What you can do:
- Turn off or down your air conditioning
- Turn off your lights
- Unplug all electronics to reduce the use of phantom power or use a power bar
- Take a vacation from your computer and T.V.

Oakville Conserves
Oakville Conserves is an energy conservation awareness program initiated by the Town. Oakville Conserves is designed to build community capacity and enhance the knowledge of Oakville residents and small business owners on ways in which they can become more energy efficient. Included below are current initiatives of the program and ways Oakville residents can get involved.

Lighten-Up!

Watt Not, Waste Not
Launched in 2007 and continuing in 2008, the Town's Environmental Policy Department and Oakville Public Library have partnered together to create a program which allows residents to borrow energy meters to test their household appliances for energy usage.
