Provincial Offenses Act - Courts Information and Ticket Payments

The Provincial Offences Act (POA) governs how charges are processed and prosecuted. It applies to all provincial statutes as well as municipal by-laws and some minor federal contraventions. Most of the POA offences filed in our court fall under the Highway Traffic Act, the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act, the Liquor Licence Act or the Trespass to Property Act.

Temporary On-Street Parking Permits are available at our offices for occasions such as: paving or repairs to driveways, home renovations, or for visitor/guest parking when parking requirements temporarily exceed the parking provisions. For one night of unplanned overnight on-street parking, please use the after-hours message service at 905-338-4394 to record your address, licence number and make of your car.

Disabled Persons Parking Permits are controlled and issued by the Ministry of Transportation for either temporary or permanent purposes. Permit applications are available at the Town of Oakville Parking/Halton Court Services Office, or at the Drivers Vehicle Licence Bureau, 125 Cross Avenue, Oakville, 905-337-8751.

Veterans Parking Permits are available for veterans, resident to the Town of Oakville, aged 65 and over. The permit allows the Oakville veteran to park their vehicle for free at on-street metered spaces and Municipal surface lots in Oakville, subject to the designated time restrictions. To apply, fill out the Veterans Parking Permit application form (pdf, 69 kB) and return to the Parking Operations office at Oakville Town Hall.
