2009 Remembrance Day Ceremonies and Exhibits

Shadows of War Exhibit at Oakville Museum, November 3 to 16, 2008November 3-29, 1-4:30 p.m.

This exhibit honours the many war veterans who have become woven within the fabric of Oakville's community heritage through a display of military uniforms, photographs and maps. November 8, 10:30 a.m.
79 Jones Street / Bronte Cenotaph
Hosted by Bronte Legion Branch 486

  • Veterans march from Bronte Legion located on Jones Street and proceed to the Bronte Cenotaph on Lakeshore Road West.
November 11, 10:15 a.m.
Church and Navy streets / Cenotaph at George's Square
Hosted by Oakville Legion Branch 114
  • 10:15 a.m.: Veterans (followed by members of the Armed Forces, RCMP, OPP, Halton Police, Oakville Firefighters, Knights of Columbus, Cadets, Scouts and Guides, and local dignitaries) depart from Church and Navy streets and march along Lakeshore and up Trafalgar to the Cenotaph at George's Square.
  • 11 a.m.: Ceremony at George's Square includes two minutes of silence and a wreath laying ceremony. After the ceremony, veterans march back to Church and Navy.
