New! Drop-in Recreational Skating
You can now drop-in and skate using your Swim/Skate pass weekdays between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. when the ice is available at Glen Abbey Community Centre* arena, Kinoak Arena and Oakville Arena. Please call ahead to check for availability.
- *Pay-per-visit rates are available for drop-in skating at Glen Abbey only.
Public Recreational Skating
For all ages to enjoy! Pucks, hockey sticks or equipment on the ice surface are prohibited.
- Admission is $3.50/person, family rate (up to four people) $10.50.
Adult Recreational Skating
For people 18 years of age or older only.
- Admission is $3.50/person, $2.25 for seniors.
Adult and Preschool Recreational Skating
Adults teaching children under five how to skate. Only CSA skate aids are allowed on the ice. Hockey sticks, pucks, stroller sleighs, chairs or equipment on the ice surface are prohibited.
- Admission is $2.50/person.
Adult and Preschool Instructional Hockey
Adults teaching children under five hockey skills. No slap shots, wrist shots or any form of aggressive play. Helmets, face cages, gloves and elbow pads are highly recommended.
- Admission is $2.50/person.
Adult Shinny Hockey
Self-organized non-contact hockey for people 18 years of age or older. Wearing protective hockey equipment is recommended.
- Admission is $7/person.
Shinny Figure Skating
Contact River Oaks for available times.
- Admission is $7/person/hour.
Special Needs Family Skating
River Oaks - Saturdays 1:30 - 2:20 p.m.
- Admission is $3.50/person, family rate (up to four people) $10.50.
- No charge for support workers or one-on-one volunteers.

Please note:
- For up-to-date recreational skating information, please call the respective facility. The schedule may change due to program requirements or maintenance needs. All arenas are closed on statutory holidays. Admission fees include GST. Holiday recreational skating and Christmas break schedules will be posted in each facility.
- Recreational skating is no longer permitted at Bayshire and Memorial Park ponds. Please see the news release for more information.
