Municipal Storm Sewers and Drainage

Most of the Town's infrastructure related to water resources and drainage is maintained and operated by the Engineering and Construction Department (905-338-4392 or publicworks@oakville.ca) including:
  • Storm sewer pipes, manholes, catchbasins and drainage inlets
  • Road culverts and bridges. Note: Driveway entrance culverts & headwalls belong to the property owner.
  • Roadside ditches
  • Drainage outlets to creeks and Lake Ontario
  • Shoreline protection structures along Lake Ontario (not parkland)
  • Creek channel erosion protection
  • Stormwater management ponds

Storm Sewer Lateral Grant Program 
The town provides a one-time grant of up to $800 to offset repair costs for damages caused by municipal trees to the private section of storm sewer lateral connection. For details and application form lease visit the program web page.
