Councillor Keith Bird was born in St. Catharines and has lived in Oakville since 1969. Having served southeast Oakville residents as Member of Council from 1976 to 1988 and 1991 to the present, in November 2006 he was acclaimed to his 11th term as the Regional and Town Councillor for Ward 3.

Councillor Bird worked for 30 years throughout Ontario and the Maritimes as the Regional Manager for TRW - a multi-billion dollar automotive parts manufacturer - until his retirement in 1992.

Over the years, Councillor Bird has served on a number of committees including the Halton Region Police Services Board and the Halton Region Conservation Authority.

Councillor Bird and his wife, Gail, have two children - Stephen and Elaine.
