Councillor Jeff Knoll was elected in 2000 and is currently serving his third term as the Local and Regional Councillor for Oakville's Ward 5.
Councillor Knoll was educated at the University of Windsor, where he majored in political science and communication studies. In addition to his public service responsibilities, Councillor Knoll is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Film.Ca Inc., the company that owns and operates Encore Cinemas locations in Oakville and Burlington.
His public service and political experiences range from distributing literature and helping in campaign offices for candidates as a youth to serving as a political aid to federal and provincial members of Parliament. Over a period of 30 years in politics, Councillor Knoll has served in virtually every possible volunteer and paid position within the political process. During his time in the federal government beyond working as an aid to elected representatives, he has worked with the Department of Secretary of State and Statistics Canada and while at the province in the Ministries of Education and Finance.
In addition to his responsibilities on the Region of Halton and Town of Oakville councils, Councillor Knoll has participated on virtually every board and committee and currently serves as:
At the Region of Halton President, Halton Community Housing Corporation Chair, the Halton Region Housing Task Force Member (Past-Chairman), Halton Health & Social Services Committee Chair, Halton Diversity Advisory Committee Member, Halton Youth Advisory Committee
At the Town of Oakville Member, 2010 Budget Committee Member, Administrative Services Committee
Outside of his Council responsibilities, Councillor Knoll is the Group Sponsor of 1st Trafalgar Scouts (having been the past Group Chairman), one of the founders and past-chairman of the Oakville Youth Development Centre and is currently a member and volunteer with the Trafalgar Township Historical Society and Oak Park Moms and Tots. Through his business and church, Knoll is a strong supporter of Kerr Street Ministries.
Jeff Knoll and his wife Michelle have five children and live in the Oak Park community with their two youngest, David and Dylan. He and his family attend Chartwell Baptist Church.
