Elected in 2006, Town Councillor Max Khan is a trial lawyer with a Bay Street law firm, a local businessman and a Council-appointed representative on the board of directors of Oakville Hydro.
Khan was born in Toronto and has lived in Oakville for 22 years. One of his first jobs was on the assembly line at the Oakville Ford plant.
He received his law degree from Dalhousie University after studying economics at the University of Western Ontario, where he served on the Board of Governors.
A two-time cancer survivor, he volunteers with cancer organizations as well as Legal Aid, the National Parole Board, the Red Cross, and other non-profits that need free legal advice.
He and his wife Rita have one son, Malik.
