On April 26, 2021, Council authorized the Oakville Municipal Development Corporation (OMDC) to secure a buyer for the former school building and the seven residential lots on Douglas Avenue. The relocation of the playground is anticipated after Summer 2021.

September 2020 - Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre and Park opened to the public.
April 23, 2019 - Council decided to separate the former Brantwood school building and proceed with a new request for proposal (RFP) for the seven lots on Douglas Avenue only. Council also required that the Oakville Trafalgar Community Centre and park be open to the public prior to the closure of the former Brantwood school yard (future Douglas Avenue lots).
August 7, 2018 - The results of the 2017 RFP did not meet the town’s expectations for the site. Council directed staff to terminate the RFP and bring the property back to market at a later date.
July 11, 2018 - The town received final bids from interested parties based on the approved official plan and zoning by-law amendments.

April 8, 2013 - Council endorsed the South Central Land Use Study’s recommended land use concept for the former Brantwood School site:
December 2012 - The town began the South Central Public Lands Study to review options for four town-owned properties, including the former Brantwood School property, and make recommendations about their future use.

June 2010 - Brantwood Public School was closed after being declared surplus by the Halton District School Board.
