Effective January 14, Oakville is under a stay-at-home order as part of the second provincial emergency due to COVID-19. Other restrictions are in effect and we must all follow public health guidelines. The town is reviewing the provincial declaration and will post any service impacts as soon as possible.
Planning studies are comprehensive projects that either look at a geographic area or a topic that affects the whole town. Studies are led by Policy Planning staff in conjunction with staff from other departments including Transit, Development Engineering, Parks and Open Space, Recreation and Culture, and Finance, as well as staff from Halton Region.
Planning studies typically involve public engagement and undergo technical review. The resulting study is presented to Council and implemented through official plan policies or zoning by-law regulations.
Following the approval of the Livable Oakville Plan, a number of studies commenced to implement the official plan. Some of these studies have begun, while others are scheduled to begin shortly.
