South Central Public Lands Study open house on December 5

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

Wednesday, December 5, 2012, 1:30 to 9 p.m.
Oakville Arena, 133 Rebecca Street — Kinsmen Pine Room

You are invited to this open house to review and provide input on the preliminary land use options for the following sites:

  • Chisholm Public School, 165 Charnwood Dr.
  • Linbrook Public School, 1079 Linbrook Rd.
  • Brantwood Public School, 221 Allan St.
  • Oakville-Trafalgar Memorial Hospital (OTMH), 327 Reynolds St.

The preliminary land use options are based on the final Parks, Recreation and Library Facilities Master Plan, the Livable Oakville Plan (official plan), and input from the community. Options to renovate or replace the Oakville Arena at Trafalgar Park are being studied separately.

The purpose of the South Central Public Lands Study is to define a preferred land use option for each of the study sites. The town owns the Linbrook, Brantwood and Chisholm school sites, and will acquire the Reynolds Street OTMH site when the new hospital opens.

Following the open house, further technical and financial review will be done and a second public open house will be held before a final report is presented to Town Council in early 2013.
