The Premier of Ontario has declared a province-wide state of emergency and issued a stay-at-home order in response to rising COVID-19 variant infection rates.
In 2014, Council approved a heritage designation for the former Metro Marine building located at 2508 Lakeshore Road West in Bronte, in recognition of the significant role the building has played in the harbour’s rich marine history.
Emergency repairs were completed after the building’s roof was damaged by a severe summer storm. Additional work to address health and safety issues and to bring the building to a state of good repair is also required.
A stakeholder focus group determined that the future use of the Bronte Marina Building will be best determined within the context of a broader Harbours Master Plan.
