Picnic Rentals

Take advantage of the Town of Oakville’s Coronation Park, a beautiful park situated between Lakeshore Road and Lakeshore Road just East of Third Line. Coronation Park features five large designated picnic areas that are can be permitted through the town, including a covered/ shelter area, and each picnic area comes equipped with picnic tables and a barbecue pit.

Lion's Valley Park, situated south of Dundas Road near Fourth Line also offers two designated picnic areas with barbecue pits, a playground unit and plenty of open space in a beautiful natural surrounding.

Online availability search

You can now search online to check the availability of picnic areas. To request the time, submit a completed picnic request form (see above), and you will be contacted by facility booking staff on the next business day. Standard booking procedures will apply.

A timetable for requests and permit confirmation deadlines is set annually. Current clients in good standing will be contacted and requested to submit their requirements to the booking clerk before each season deadline.

Download the appropriate application form and submit it by January 1. Requests received after this date will be processed on a first-come first-served basis. Completed requests should be forwarded to:

  • Personal barbecues may NOT be brought onto any municipal parkland.
  • Permanent barbecues are available at five areas within Coronation Park and two areas within Lions Valley Park.
  • A permit is required to obtain exclusive use of these sites.
  • Please note that fires and alcoholic beverages are strictly prohibited.
  • Concession contracts are in place at Coronation Park. NO catered/corporate food service is permitted in this location without written permission from the Supervisor of Support Services.

Council approves rental fees annually based on current market trends, base rates and fees and current budget requirements. The rates are subject to change pending council approval. All fees include applicable taxes.

The following prices are in effect for the 2017 season:

  • Personal/Family Picnic Area Permit – $94.76 per three hours
  • Personal/Family Picnic Area Permit Non-Residents – $211.59 per three hours
  • Group – Community/Non-Profit  – $147.79 per booking to a maximum of six hours
  • Group – Business/Private Organization – $322.34 per booking to a maximum of six hours
  • Group – Business/Private Organization Non-Resident – $395.85 per booking to a maximum of six hours
  • Hydro – $55.62 per booking
  • Hydro Non-Resident – $102.91 per booking
