The Town of Oakville has four community gardens:
Garden plots are usually open between May 1 and October 31 for non-commercial use only. Due to the high demand, the above locations are available to Oakville residents only. To place your name on a waitlist for one of the gardens, register for a garden plot online. All allocations are currently full. Search the Community Gardens map for location details. Accessible planter tables are on site at Memorial Park Gardens.
To ensure that all COVID-19 public health and safety protocols are followed, outlined below is our Community Gardens protocols for 2021. Hours of operation are dawn until dusk.
Our community garden capacity is 50 per cent. When restrictions change, we will adjust capacity numbers accordingly.
When attending, you are confirming that you will not access the community garden if you have any of the following:
For contact tracing purposes, all gardeners have been sent a link with a form to complete prior to attending. All gardeners are required to keep a minimum of two metres/six feet between themselves and other gardeners. Staff will be on-site periodically throughout the day, to disinfect high touch point areas.
Gardeners are encouraged to wear a non-medical mask while on site.
Register for a garden plot waitlist online. Please note that there are no available garden plots. Current wait times are estimated at four years from the date of submission.
2021 Garden Plot Rental Fee: $93.79 (tax inclusive)
Tenants are responsible for maintaining their garden plots throughout the season, including watering, pruning, harvesting, fertilizing, and pest/disease control.
