Hixon Park is a new park within Ward 1, and was purchased by the town from the Halton Catholic District School Board. The new park will be at the corner of Hixon Street and Nyla Court and will be complimented by 14 new residential lots. As part of the town’s 2018 capital budget, funding was approved to begin the design process for the park, with planned construction money to be part of the 2020 capital budget.
A public open house was held on Wednesday, October 9 at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community Centre. Oakville staff and representatives from our consulting team were on hand to answer questions from local residents. Two concepts for the park area were presented and they can be viewed here.
Public comments on these design options will be accepted until Friday, October 25.
Design work for this park has been awarded to the Seferian Design Group.
No contractors have been retained for this work.
