The town is in the Red-Control level under the new provincial COVID-19 Response Framework: Keeping Ontario Safe and Open. Provincial orders remain in effect and we must all follow public health guidelines.
The Park Ambassador program helps to keep our public parks and trail systems beautiful, safe, and clean.
Volunteers support this program by monitoring their adopted greenspace and keeping their park or trail litter-free for a minimum of two years. With more than 340 active parks, playgrounds, and sports fields; two harbours; and 280 woodland parks and trails, there are plenty of opportunities for families, schools, youth groups, and corporations to get involved.
Enjoy the boundless scenic beauty of your parks and trails while contributing to your community. Follow the scenic Heritage Trails that meander along Sixteen Mile Creek and look down from the soaring 400 cliffs. Connect to the Crosstown Trail and link up with the Joshua's Creek Trail. Enjoy the serenity of the Waterfront Trail. Or take pride in knowing you’re making a difference to your local playground or soccer field.
Whether you run, jog, cycle or walk, there's a park or trail waiting for you.
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, applications are not being reviewed at this time. If you are an existing park ambassador, please note that it is not required that you monitor your park or trail during the public health outbreak.
After two years of commitment, you will be prompted to either renew or withdraw from the program.
