Sixteen Mile camp schedules and off-site trips

Sixteen Mile Sports Complex is the Town of Oakville’s state-of-the-art quad pad arena. This fully-accessible facility features one Olympic-sized ice pad with seamless glass and seating for 1,500 spectators, three NHL-sized ice pads, 22 change rooms, three community rooms, and two practice pads.

The Oakville Blades and Skate Oakville (formerly the Oakville Skating Club) proudly call Sixteen Mile Sports Complex home. Their offices are conveniently located within the facility.

Information has been posted for select camps only, at this time. Camp details will be provided up to two weeks in advance of the program start date. If you do not see the camp you are looking for, please check back later or call 905-338-4250 for assistance.

Before and after-care

Before and after-care is available for all Town of Oakville camps at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex starting at 7:30 a.m. and ending at 6 p.m. in Community Room 1. Follow the signs from the main entrance on the Upper Level. Separate registration and fee required.

If you are not using before and after-care

Learn to Skate and Figure Skating Camp participants are to be dropped off and picked up at Community Room 1. Follow the signs from the main entrance on the Upper Level.

Participants in Hockey Skills with the Blades and Elite Level Hockey are to be picked up and dropped off near Rink 4 on the Lower Level. Enter via the Athlete’s Entrance and follow the main hall to the far end of the facility.

What to Bring

Parents and/or guardians are required to provide government issued photo I.D. at pick up for all camps.

All campers should pack a nut-free snack and refillable water bottle daily.

A hat and sunscreen are recommended for outdoor activities.

Closed-toe running shoes are recommended for all participants.

Ice surface temperatures are much cooler than the rest of the facility. Bring warm clothes to wear on the ice, as applicable.

All participants in Hockey Skills with the Blades and Elite Level Hockey must wear full hockey equipment while on the ice, including a CSA-approved hockey helmet with full-face cage/shield, mouth and neck guards.

In Learn To Skate Camp, all participants must wear a CSA-approved hockey helmet and winter gloves while on the ice. Bicycle helmets are not permitted.

Please note: No camp Monday, July 1 and Monday, August 5.

Hockey Skills with the Oakville Blades

Campers will participate in 1.5 hour ice instruction twice a day, led by hockey instructors to help them improve their skating, passing, and shooting skills.

Off the ice, participants will experience a wide variety of sports.

Skating time: 9-10:30 a.m. and 2-3:30 p.m.

A hot lunch will be served daily.

Elite Level Hockey Camp

Campers in this rep-only program will participate in 1.5 hour ice instruction twice a day, led by hockey instructors to help them refine their skating, passing, and shooting skills.

Off the ice, participants will experience hockey-specific training.

Skating time: 9-10:30 a.m. and 2-3:30 p.m.

A hot lunch will be served daily.

Learn to Skate Camp

Campers will participate in the CanSkate program led by Skate Oakville coaches to help them improve their skating skills.

When off the ice, participants will experience a wide variety of activities.

Skating time: 10:30-11:30 a.m. and 1-2 p.m.

A hot lunch will be served daily.

Summer Figure Skating Camp

Campers in this figure skating program will participate in on ice instruction twice a day, led by Skate Oakville Coaches. Skaters will work on refining ice dance, free skate and ice skills.

Off the ice, participants will experience figure skating-specific training.

A hot lunch will be served daily.
