Facilitated by town staff, the playground program is subject to safe weather conditions. Supervised lunch breaks, before- and after-care are not provided. Participants must be signed in and out by a parent or guardian.
For sites that have a splash pad, remember to bring a swimsuit and towel! Washroom facilities are available at each location.
The town is excited to offer a pre-registered supervised playground drop-in experience at select locations across Oakville. Participants must purchase a one-time summer membership to access 10 weekly programs, all summer long. Once the membership has been activated on the account, parents/guardians must pre-register for individual Super Playground drop-ins (under Youth programs).
Residents will be able to register for these sessions seven days in advance, six days in advance for non-residents.
All participants must be signed in (at 9 a.m. for morning sites, 1 p.m. for afternoon sites, and 5 p.m. for the evening session) and out of the program by a parent or guardian. Government-issued photo identification is required for pick up. Each location can accommodate up to 24 participants at a time.
This program is subject to safe weather conditions. Registrants will be contacted regarding any cancellations.
If bad weather develops during the session, participants will be taken to the emergency shelter location in parantheses. Supervised play will be provided to the best of our ability for the duration of the session.
When children show signs of illness, keep them home. This greatly reduces the spread of illness at camp. Please follow medical advice if you have been told by a doctor, health care provider, or public health unit that you should currently be isolating (staying at home).
Participants should not attend camp if they have any of the following new or worsening symptoms or signs (that are not chronic or related to other known causes or conditions):
A child may be sent home if coughing, sneezing, has a temperature, or any other signs of contagious illness or infection during the day. Children showing signs of illness must be picked up within one-hour. Please ensure your emergency contact can be on-site within that time frame.
Please check your child for lice before the start of camp.
Sunscreen should be brought daily and applied regularly. We encourage you to show your child how to apply their own sunscreen. Hats should also be worn every day. Please label your child’s sunscreen.
Be prepared! Dress for the weather and for the fun you’ll be part of. For instance, if it looks like a cloudy drizzly day, remember to pack your rain gear.
Any child bringing an EpiPen or inhaler to the program must bring it in a separate fanny pack/case to be worn at all times. A medical consent form must be completed upon sign in.
