CUPE Local 136 Retired Employees

Retiree benefit coverage includes extended health care, dental, emergency travel and life insurance in coverage of $2000.

Retiree benefit coverage ceases at the end of the month in which you reach the age of 65.

Eligibility and premium payment

If you retiree before the age of 65, either because of a disability, or with the OMERS 90 factor (or prevailing factor), and who has at least 15 years of service with the Corporation, you will have the opportunity to continue benefit coverage.

The town will contribute to monthly premium based on the following:

  • More than 15 years service: 60%
  • More than 20 years service: 80%
  • More than 25 years of service: 100%

You will be responsible for the remaining portion of premium payment; arrangements for preauthorized payment must be made with the Pension and Benefits Administrator.
