While these policies generally apply to all employees, eligibility is determined by your collective agreement and/or employment status.
The town provides vacation so that employees can enjoy rest and relaxation.
Annual vacation entitlement for permanent full-time employees and vacation pay to all other employees is in accordance with or exceeds legislative requirements.
The town provides time away from work for public holidays in accordance with the Employment Standards Act, 2000.
We recognize that employees may require time away from work for personal or other reasons.
The Leave of Absence policy and procedures allow employees the flexibility to manage their work and personal lives while meeting operational requirements.
There may be times when an employee's family member's illness may require them to be absent from work due to caregiving responsibilities, treatment needs, etc.
Employee's may be eligible for a job-protected unpaid leave under the Employment Standards Act.
