The Town of Oakville will start its 2019 Firefighter Recruitment on Wednesday, January 16, 2019.
Applications will only be accepted online.
Date: Friday, February 1, 2019 at 4 p.m.
The deadline to apply online is 4 p.m. on Friday, February 1, 2019.
Dates: Monday, February 11 to Friday, February 15, 2019
Interviews will be conducted over this period. Interviews will be conducted by a Selection Committee who will interview candidates based on qualifications. The town will also consider such factors as, but is not limited to: work experience, education related to firefighting and community volunteer service.
Dates: Monday, February 25 to Friday, March 1, 2019
Second interviews will be conducted over this period.
Dates: Monday, March 4 to Friday, March 8, 2019
Any additional screening, testing and/or assessments deemed necessary by the Selection Committee will be conducted over this period.
Date: Monday, March 18, 2019
Candidates selected for employment will be notified by 4 p.m. on Monday, March 18, 2019, with a conditional offer of employment. Those candidates not selected will be notified electronically via email.
Once candidates have successfully met all conditions of employment, candidates will receive a confirmed offer of employment.
Date: Tuesday, April 9, 2019
The Town of Oakville anticipates a Tuesday, April 9, 2019 start date.
