The Premier of Ontario has declared a province-wide state of emergency and issued a stay-at-home order in response to rising COVID-19 variant infection rates.
This is a guideline and is intended for reference purposes only. All dates and stages are subject to change at the discretion of the town. Only a select number of candidates will proceed through each stage of the recruitment process.

The Town of Oakville will start its 2021 Fire Fighter Recruitment on Thursday, December 10, 2020.
Applications will only be accepted online.
Date: Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 4 p.m.
The deadline to apply online is 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 5, 2021.
Dates: Monday, January 11 to Wednesday, January 20, 2021
Interviews will be conducted over this period. Interviews will be conducted by a Selection Committee who will interview selected candidates based on qualifications. The town will also consider such factors as, but is not limited to: work experience, education related to fire fighting and community volunteer service.
Dates: Monday, February 1 to Friday, February 5, 2021
Second interviews will be conducted over this period.
Dates: Wednesday, February 10 to Friday, February 19, 2021
Any additional screening, testing and/or assessments deemed necessary by the Selection Committee will be conducted over this period.
Date: Tuesday, February 23, 2021
Candidates selected for employment will be notified by 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 with a conditional offer of employment.
Once candidates have successfully met all conditions of employment, candidates will receive a confirmed offer of employment.
Date: Tuesday, March 23, 2021 (tentative)
The Town of Oakville anticipates a Tuesday, March 23, 2021 start date.
