The mission of the Oakville Firefighters Toy Drive is to ensure every local child has an opportunity to unwrap a gift of their own over the holidays.All donations are distributed directly to local families, institutions and community agencies supporting children and youth in Oakville and Halton Region.
The gift cards and toys collected during the annual toy drive help bring joy to so many children and youth who would otherwise go without over the holidays.
In 2016 the drive provided gifts to 3,284 local children and youth in need who would not have received a gift otherwise.
All donations are sincerely appreciated; however, the area of greatest need are gifts for youth ages 11 to 15. Some gift ideas for this age group include: gift cards, sports equipment, electronics, posters, calendars, journals, school supplies, backpacks, clothing (winter hats and gloves), jewelry, hair accessories, cosmetics, blankets, shower products, movies and movie passes. To assist in gift sorting please ensure your gifts are new and unwrapped.
Community groups and corporations are encouraged to spread the holiday cheer by organizing their own toy drives or donations to support the Oakville Firefighters Toy Drive.
