The Premier of Ontario has declared a province-wide state of emergency and issued a stay-at-home order in response to rising COVID-19 variant infection rates.
If your baby was born in Ontario, you will need to register your baby’s birth to get a birth certificate. You can register the birth and apply for a birth certificate at the same time through the Newborn Registration Service available on the ServiceOntario birth certificates website.
For a death that occurred in Ontario, you can apply online for a death certificate through the ServiceOntario death certificates website. This website will allow you to complete the death certificate application, and then you have the option of submitting it online or printing a hard copy for mailing. You can also pick up a hard copy application in person from the Clerk's department at Town Hall (1225 Trafalgar Road) and mail it to:
