Development Charges By-Law

Development Charges are fees collected from developers at the time a building permit is issued to help pay for the cost of infrastructure associated with growth in Oakville.

Summary

The town’s Development Charges Background Study is complete and was released on December 22, 2017.

A public meeting was held on January 29, 2018, by Town Council pursuant to the provisions of the Development Charges Act, 1997, which require that Council hold at least one public meeting before passage of a development charges by-law. The by-law is expected to be passed at the February 26, 2018 Council meeting.
