Street network conversion now completed

As part of the Downtown Plan, the town converted existing one-way streets in downtown Oakville to two-way streets. The streets affected included:

Any changes to downtown transit routes will be available on the Oakville Transit website.

The conversions were completed in advance of the Lakeshore Road Reconstruction and Streetscape Project.

Municipal Lot 5

The town initiated a project to resurface and improve Municipal Lot 5, located on the south side of Robinson Street at Dunn Street. The work plan included:

  • concrete repair, removal and resurfacing of asphalt
  • line painting and space markings
  • creating a designated accessible parking space
  • relocating the payment machine to the front of the parking lot
  • creating an additional exit
  • replacing the chain link fence
  • adding plantings to the boulevard area

This project has been deferred until spring 2019. The deferral will provide time for further discussion of the options with the abutting property owners. Staff will be contacting these property owners early in 2019.
