Mayor Burton was on hand on Sunday to help raise funds for Luke’s Legacy, a local charity created by Carolyn and Troy Holmes to honour their son, Luke Holmes, who passed away at 22 months of age due to congenital heart failure. Luke’s Legacy is a way to celebrate Luke’s life, but it also helps raise funds for the Cardiac Critical Care Unit at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto where Luke received exemplary care.
Celebrities and notable community figures were asked to decorate heart-shaped cookies to be included as a prize in a silent auction at Whole Foods Market in Oakville.
You can find out more about Luke’s Legacy or donate to the cause by visiting the charity’s website.
