Don’t miss your chance to showcase Oakville’s finest volunteers by nominating them for an Oakville Community Spirit Award! Nominations are due Monday, April 15, 2013 at 4 p.m.
“We're looking for Oakville's shining stars, who are helping us to create Canada’s most livable town,” said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton. “This is your chance to recognize those who devote their time and energy to enhancing the lives of others. Nominate your family, friends, co-workers and neighbours.”
Residents are encouraged to nominate deserving individuals in any of eight award categories: Senior, Youth, Arts, Group Volunteer, Individual Volunteer, Environmental, Access, as well as Heritage and History. Nomination forms are available for pick-up at all town facilities and Oakville Public Library branches, or can be completed on the Community Spirit Awards page.
This year’s annual Community Spirit Awards presentation will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Oakville’s dynamic Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC). Donna Funnell, a local fibre artist and active member of QEPCCC has been commissioned to create the 2013 Community Spirit awards. Weather Network personality Chris Mei will emcee the event.
