Celebrate Oakville Culture Days on September 27, 2014, at QEPCCC

Wed, 17 Sep 2014

Enjoy free family-friendly entertainment and more!

The Town of Oakville will once again join the Canada-wide Culture Days celebration on Saturday, September 27, 2014, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC). In partnership with the Oakville Arts Council and QEPCCC’s active members, residents are invited to take advantage of FREE hands-on and behind-the-scenes activities that explore music, dance, visual arts and theatre!

“This is a wonderful opportunity for Oakville residents to immerse themselves in the art and cultural activities taking place at QEPCCC on September 27,” Mayor Rob Burton said. “Through art and culture let’s show the rest of Canada why Oakville’s known for its incredible livability.”

Highlights of this year’s lineup include:

  • DuffleBag Theatre performance of Peter Pan
  • Culture Days Mural painting
  • Culture Days Creatures woodshop creation
  • Oakville Improv Theatre Group
  • Oakville Symphony performance of “Conduct Us”
  • Canadian Caribbean Association music lessons and performance
  • Culture Days Critter Family Drop-in Ceramic Program
  • Record a hit song in the Recording Studio
  • Exhibitions

A full schedule of events and registration details are available on the Oakville Culture Days page. Online registration is now open for select programs. Pre-registration opens on September 27, 2014, at 9:30 a.m. at QEPCCC.

Win with Culture Days contests! Residents have a chance to win a free pass to a Ceramic Studio family drop-in session by participating in the Culture Days Crawl and earning activity participation stamps. A $100 program credit is also up for grabs by sharing your Culture Days activity photo on Twitter — be sure to include #culturedaysoakville.

Culture Days is a grassroots nation-wide movement that aims to raise awareness, participation and engagement in the arts and cultural life of Canadian communities.
