Looking for something fun to do this weekend? Downtown Oakville will come alive this Saturday, June 6 with cultural events and activities thanks to Oakville’s Summer Cultural Connection, a new events initiative launched by the Town of Oakville with support from Union Gas.
Every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., Centennial Square and Navy Street between Church Street and Lakeshore Road, will showcase the unique Oakville Farmers’ Market, complemented by a variety of free interactive displays and workshops hosted by town departments and partner organizations.
This Saturday’s activities include a hands-on art workshop for kids led by Oakville Galleries staff, and a basketball skills and drills session taught by recreational staff from River Oaks Community Centre.
Want more culture? Drop by the historic Oakville Museum at Erchless Estate located just a short walk away at 8 Navy Street. The Oakville Museum offers free guided tours that tell the fascinating stories of our town. Visitors are also encouraged to take in Oakville’s beautiful downtown and boutique shops.
