Are you on the Voters’ List? Voter cards are in the mail

Advance voting starts June 20. Voting Day is July 13

Starting this week, voter notification cards will arrive in the mail of all eligible Ward 6 voters in Oakville. If you are an eligible voter and do not receive a card by the end of June, please call 905-815-6015, email, or visit the Clerk’s department at Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road to ensure your name is on the voters’ list.

You can vote in the Ward 6 municipal by-election if you are:

  • a Canadian citizen,
  • at least 18 years old, and
  • a resident in Ward 6 in the Town of Oakville, or
  • a non-resident owner or tenant of land in Ward 6, or their spouse

On the front of the voter card you will find a list of all locations in Ward 6 where you can vote on voting day, July 13. On the back of the card, all the advance voting locations are listed. Advance voting runs on June 20, 23 and 24.

Please take your voter card and proper identification with you to vote. Acceptable forms of identification include:

  • Driver’s licence
  • Ontario photo card
  • Current utility bill
  • Current credit card or bank statement
  • Current insurance policy

Advance Voting Opportunities

If you are unable to vote on Voting Day — Monday, July 13, you may vote at one of the Advance Voting dates that have been scheduled to take place this June:

Saturday, June 20, 2015 - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, 1051 Glenashton Drive
  • Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road

Tuesday, June 23, 2015 - 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

  • Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road

Wednesday, June 24, 2015 - 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

  • Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, 1051 Glenashton Drive
  • Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road

All advance voting locations are physically accessible and will have accessible voting equipment. On July 13, 2015, Town Hall will be physically accessible, will have accessible voting equipment and will be open to all voters.

If you are not able to vote on voting day or any of the advance voting days, please call the Clerk’s department to obtain information on proxy voting at 905-815-6015.
