Oakville’s popular Family Day celebration returns on Monday, February 20, 2017 with hundreds of free family-friendly activities and events for everyone to enjoy.
“Every Family Day I am reminded of how fortunate Wendy and I were to raise our children in such a safe, friendly and livable community,” said Mayor Rob Burton. “On Monday I invite everyone to celebrate family by enjoying the wonderful recreation, arts and cultural events offered throughout Oakville.”
Participants can take part in a variety of classes including volleyball, basketball and yoga, or visit Oakville Museum’s Art and Fashion Exhibit. Families can also enjoy Storytime at select Oakville Public Library branches; get their picture taken on a Zamboni at River Oaks and Glen Abbey community centres and Joshua’s Creek Arenas; be entertained by Sing Along Tim & The Pacifiers at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC); and catch the Oakville Blades play Trenton Golden Hawks at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. The town will also offer free swimming and ice time at participating pools and arenas.

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at QEPCCC, Glen Abbey and River Oaks community centres.
