Town of Oakville launches Citizen Survey January 24, 2022

Wed, 19 Jan 2022

Residents encouraged to have their say. Survey closes February 6

The Town of Oakville has partnered with Forum Research Inc. to conduct a telephone and online Citizen Survey. Starting January 24, 2022, residents will be invited to participate in the survey to share their opinions on whether the town is meeting expectations and help identify and prioritize areas to strengthen town programs and services.

Residents who are 18 years or older may be contacted by a Forum Research telephone interviewer on behalf of the town. The telephone survey will take about 15-20 minutes to complete and will be strictly confidential, anonymous, and voluntary.

To complement the random phone survey, an online survey will also be available to residents to provide candid feedback. The survey closes on February 6, 2022.

The town will release the results on oakville.ca in April 2022.

Quotes

"I encourage all residents to take the biannual Citizen Survey. Let us know what you think about our town programs and services and if we are meeting your expectations. Information collected through the phone and online surveys will help Council and town staff set our future priorities.”

- Mayor Rob Burton

“The Town of Oakville wants to hear from all residents to ensure we can continue providing programs and services that meet our community’s needs. Hearing from the community helps us to track overall satisfaction with town programs and services, identify emerging issues important to the community, and to help shape future strategic priorities.”

- Jane Clohecy, Chief Administrative Officer, Town of Oakville

Background

Every two years, the Town of Oakville conducts a Citizen Survey to gather information on residents’ overall satisfaction with town programs and services, identify emerging issues important to the community and to help guide strategic priorities and ensure continuous improvement in the town’s service delivery.

The last Citizen Survey was conducted in 2019. Last year’s survey was postponed due to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
