Town of Oakville recognized with a Marketing Canada Award for new Community Profile publication

Wed, 09 Mar 2022

The Town of Oakville has received a Marketing Canada Award from the Economic Developers Association of Canada (EDAC). The prestigious award recognizes Oakville’s new Community Profile - Where Living Works (pdf) in the single publication five-plus pages category.

Launched in February, the Community Profile is an investment attraction publication spotlighting the benefits of choosing Oakville as a location for business. In addition to the advantages of choosing a location in Oakville, the profile features key information for businesses to make an investment decision, including demographic data, top industries, and real estate market trends.

EDAC recognizes that marketing a community is an integral part of the economic development profession and provides The Marketing Canada Awards competition as an opportunity to exchange and review promotional and marketing material produced by municipalities across the country. This awards program, which attracted submissions from across Canada this year, is open to organizations that promote and market Canadian provinces, territories, regions, cities, towns and areas with a view to improving the economic well-being of Canadians.

Learn more about the awards by visiting the Economic Developers Association of Canada website.

Quote

“The town is honoured to be recognized with a Marketing Canada Award for our Community Profile publication, which puts a spotlight on our town’s livability and strong economy. Industry leading companies call Oakville home because together, business and people thrive in our community.”

Mayor Rob Burton

Background

Oakville’s new Community Profile is a continuation of the town's Where Living Works campaign that was launched in 2021 to generate awareness and attract new investment to Oakville's office market by highlighting industry leading companies, local talent, and the town's livability and world-renowned assets.

The EDAC is Canada’s national association of economic development professionals, representing nearly 1,000 members. Its mission is to enhance the professional competence of economic development professionals and ensure placement of qualified people in the field; to advance economic development as a distinct, recognized, and self-governing profession; and to contribute to Canada’s well-being.
