Overnight parking now available at most town lots in downtown Oakville

Courtesy temporary parking permits and more also added to online services

Overnight parking is now available at most municipal lots in downtown Oakville. It’s free to park at downtown core municipal parking lots between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m. but if a resident or visitor needs to park their vehicle anytime between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. they must purchase a one-night pass through HonkMobile or a 30-night pass through the town’s online services.

The town is also continuing to streamline its online parking services and is now offering courtesy temporary parking permits in addition to on-street parking permits that are currently offered through online services. If you don’t have a town account already, sign up and select the Parking and Enforcement page. Registered users will be able to apply or review any parking-related permits for their vehicle(s) at their convenience and at any time.

Key highlights

• Paid overnight parking is available in the downtown core, municipal lots 1, 2, 3, 5, 6A, 7, 8, 15 and 16. The parking lots along Water Street are not included. Visit the Municipal Parking Lots and Garages page for a downtown Oakville map.
• At this time, parking machines in downtown Oakville municipal lots cannot accept payment for parking between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. Payment is only accepted through the HonkMobile app (one night) or online services (30-night permit).
• A maximum of 15 courtesy temporary parking permits are allowed for each vehicle/license plate.
• Paid on-street parking permits are available for further temporary parking needs after the 15 courtesy parking permits are used.
• Through your online town account, you can apply and review any parking-related permit.
