Bronte Room, Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road
The Town of Oakville is initiating a review of the comprehensive licensing by-law. Since By-law 2008-093 was passed, a number of amendments and new schedules have been added. As a result, there is a need for clarity and consistency. At the ASC meeting on September 15, 2014, staff will present a draft by-law for the purposes of Council endorsing a public consultation process.
A new comprehensive licensing by-law will be presented to Council for adoption in 2015 following the completion of the public consultation. The new comprehensive licensing by-law proposes the addition of the Livery Cab By-law (schedule 22) and the Taxicab By-law (schedule 36). The intention of the new Licensing By-law is to provide one generally accepted rules for all businesses and to address matters such as public safety, consumer protection and nuisance control.
Anyone wishing to speak to this matter at the meeting is invited to do so. Written comments may also be submitted for distribution at the meeting and should be directed to the Town Clerk by no later than noon on Monday, September 15, 2014:
1225 Trafalgar Road
Oakville, ON L6H 0H3
The decision of the ASC will be forwarded to Council for consideration on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 7 p.m. in Council Chambers.
