As the province plans for recovery, the town is beginning to carefully and responsibly bring back services and reopen some public spaces, programs and services. Provincial emergency orders and the town’s physical distancing by-law remain in effect. We must all continue to follow guidelines from Public Health officials.

Town staff invite interested industry stakeholders to an information meeting to provide comments regarding the new proposed comprehensive Licensing By-law. Anyone wishing to speak to this matter may do so at the meeting.
The Town of Oakville is initiating a review of the comprehensive Licensing By-law. Since By-law 2008-093 was passed, a number of amendments and new schedules have been added. As a result, there is a need for clarity and consistency.
A new comprehensive Licensing By-law will be presented to Council for adoption in the New Year following the completion of the public consultation. The new comprehensive Licensing By-law proposes the addition of Driving School Instructors and Refreshment Vehicle Operators as licencees as well as the addition of Taxicabs and Limousines. The intention of the new Licensing By-law is to provide one generally accepted rules for all businesses and to address matters such as public safety, consumer protection and nuisance control.
