Oakville Harbour Master Plan Implementation: Phase-2 Proposed Works

Wednesday, June 25, 2014
7–8:30 p.m.
Oakville Arena, Kinsmen Pine Room
133 Rebecca Street

You are invited to attend a Phase 2 public open house meeting on June 25, 2014, 7 to 8:30 p.m., to review the plans and learn more about the proposed upcoming improvements on the west shores of the Oakville Harbour. Town of Oakville staff and the representatives from The MBTW Group will be present to answer your questions and receive comments from residents.

Background

In 2007, the Town of Oakville identified that the west shore of the Oakville Harbour and adjacent park areas needed to be updated and improved. A master plan was developed through consultation with local residents and stakeholders and prepared by John George Associates. The final master plan was approved by Town Council in 2008.

Town Council has phased the development of the master plan and approved funding for the first phase of the project, that include works around the Tannery Park washroom building, pathway upgrades and relocation and restoration of the Lyon’s log cabin have begun or been recently completed.

The next phase of development (phase 2) includes upgrades to the lookout area at the top of Tannery Hill, as well as parking lot, driveway entrance, boat launch ramp improvements at Shipyard Park. We will also be completing a section of sheet pile wall on the south side of the Oakville Yacht Squadron building.
