Notice of public meeting on May 21, 2014, to review the proposed design for physical traffic calming measures on Pine Glen Road

Thu, 08 May 2014

Wednesday, May 21, 2014, 5 to 7 p.m.
Town Hall
1225 Trafalgar Road
Oakville, Ontario

The Town of Oakville is continuing with efforts to mitigate speeding on roads in elementary school zones where speeds exceed warrant thresholds. The town has developed physical traffic calming measures aimed at reducing vehicle speeds by making it uncomfortable for motorists to travel at excessive speeds.

Speeding problems which warrant mitigation have been identified along Pine Glen Road in the vicinity of Emily Carr School. To address such problems, the town is proposing to install physical traffic calming measures in the form of a raised barrier median. The town has found these measures to be effective in reducing vehicle speeds without adversely affecting emergency service agencies. The project team invites adjacent stakeholders to review the proposed design plans at the Public Information Centre (PIC).

The PIC will give directly affected stakeholders an opportunity to provide input on the final design. Once designs are finalized staff will move ahead with implementation. Should you have comments or concerns and are unable to attend, please contact:
