Rebecca Street Bridge construction starts June 22, 2015

Mon, 15 Jun 2015

Town of Oakville will be undertaking bridge improvement works (repairs and rehabilitation) at the Rebecca Street Bridge over 16 Mile Creek (William Anderson Bridge — between Forsythe Street and Navy Street).

The construction work will involve major structural repair of the bridge. Environmental protection will be achieved by installing a full enclosure system on both sides of Rebecca Street Bridge to prevent any waste and concrete particles from entering the creek or falling into boat storage areas.

Schedule

Expected start date:

June 22, 2015

Expected Completion Date

December 30, 2015

Traffic impacts

One lane of traffic in each direction across the bridge will be maintained at all times. Pedestrian access across the bridge will be reduced to one side of the bridge.

Communications

We will communicate directly with any members of nearby facilities that may be disrupted by the construction. There will also be some temporary parking restrictions in adjacent parking lots and metered parking spaces along Water Street. No parking will be permitted in the active work zones. You can view service disruption advisories on the town’s website at oakville.ca.
