As the province plans for recovery, the town is beginning to slowly bring back services and reopen some public spaces. Provincial emergency orders and the town’s physical distancing by-law remain in effect. We must all continue to follow guidelines from Public Health officials.

Flags at all town facilities are being flown at half-mast in memory of Councillor Khan who passed away on March 29, 2015.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends at this most difficult time. His honesty, integrity and determination to improve his community, was evident to everyone who knew him. He will be truly missed by all of us.
Funeral prayers will be held today, Monday, March 30, promptly at 1:30 p.m. at the ISNA Canada Mosque, 2200 South Sheridan Way, in Mississauga. Parking is limited.
For those who attend the service at the mosque, please note that there are separate entrances for women and men. Women should wear dark colours and ensure their legs and arms are covered. As well, a head scarf or covering is required during prayer. Women are not allowed at the burial.
In addition, Councillor Khan’s family has specifically requested that flowers not be sent and that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society instead.
