Oakville Arena and Trafalgar Park Revitalization — November 2016 project update

Thu, 03 Nov 2016

Starting in November, 2016, the Town of Oakville will begin preliminary work on the Trafalgar Park Revitalization Project with a number of pre-construction activities taking place at 133 Rebecca Street over the next two months. Please be assured that disruption to the neighbourhood is expected to be minimal.

Fencing – Week of November 14, 2016

A temporary construction fence will be erected around the site to ensure public safety.

Tree removals – Week of November 14, 2016

The town retained an independent arborist to complete a tree inventory and assessment of all trees on site and the proposed removals have been approved by the town’s Forestry department. As part of the approved landscape plans for the site a number of new trees will be planted around the community centre and within the park.

Pre-construction operations – beginning the week of November 21, 2016

Heavy equipment will be on site to start preliminary grading of the site as well as soil and asphalt removal.  During this time, the park area will remain accessible to the public and the town will ensure the contractor adheres to all applicable by-laws, including the noise by-law. Parking of construction vehicles and equipment will be confined to the site.
