The Town of Oakville is excited to reopen our doors as soon as we can safely do so. All public health guidelines remain in effect.
Fri, 09 Jun 2017
During the period of June 12-23, 2017, depending on the weather, the town will be using a small Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV or drone) to take archival aerial photographs and video footage of areas impacted by the high water levels of Lake Ontario, including:
Coronation Park
Gairloch Gardens
Bronte inner Harbour – pier, Bronte Beach Park and bluffs
Oakville Harbour – pier, waterfront, Lakeside Park, Shipyard Park
The flight and operations will be handled by DroneBoy, a Transport Canada and NavCanada approved commercial drone operator. The drone being used is a very small, quiet, battery-operated vehicle with an onboard camera. It will not fly over public spaces and will not capture any images of people, homes or yards.
Filming will only take place on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. and for no more than four hours.
