The town initiated a Residential Character Study earlier this year to gain a better understanding of the elements and qualities that contribute to residential character – the "look and feel" of an area. Through a series of walking tours, open houses, and an online survey, staff heard what residents thought contributed to the character of their neighbourhoods.
Now, we have a draft study document ready for public review and comment. This document will provide greater insight into what residential character means and will assist staff in evaluating the existing Livable Oakville Plan policies, design directions and other implementing documents and processes.
This is your chance to review and comment on the draft study document before it goes to Council in early 2018 and learn more about what residential character is and how it is managed.
Visit our Residential Character Study page for more information.
